The only experience I have with manifolds is on the old 2.0L Mirdubishi Evo turbos and they typically didn't have any real impact until running 2.0 bar plus of boost.

I did it on mine many years ago, that was running with hybrid turbos up to over 600hp.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, has anyone done any testing on whether a set of larger branch ID and/or equal length branch manifolds are beneficial at around 600 bhp with K24 turbos? The only experience I have with manifolds is on the old 2.0L Mirdubishi Evo turbos and they typically didn't have any real impact until running 2.0 bar plus of boost. What's worse, some of the after market stainless ones would crack and leak, so the standard mild steel ones were preferred. Basically I think people found the runners are so short they have minimal impact. Does the same hold true on 996Ts? :?

POST 2Original post

don't know the answer, but it's worth looking on 6speed, Rennlist etc as the Americans seem to be more adventurous with these sorts of modifications.

POST 3Original post

If you have a die grinder and some patience you can do some work on the standard manifolds to improve them. There is a lot of intrusion from the welds in to the ports. There are a few threads on the internet about it. I did it on mine many years ago, that was running with hybrid turbos up to over 600hp. MC
