Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Evening all, Is there a definitive list of wheel sizes that can be fitted to a '98 C2 (narrow body) with aerokit? My car currently has the gt3 style wheels on it. For an 18" wheel, what width can you go to and what offset? (both front and rear) I've got my eyes on a set of wheels, the rears are 10J et40 - would these fit as my car currently has 265 tyres on the back and the proposed set 275? Thanks in advance!

POST 2Original post

From my research a 275 or 285 should be ok on a narrow body without rubbing so 275 will be fine. The bit I'd be worried about with those is the offset at 40. The std 18 inch wheels would run a 265 tyre and 65 offset. A lot of people use spacers though generally 15 mm from what I've seen so effectively giving an offset of 50. Your going 10 more mm of poke so may stick out too far. Think I've seen on some forums people going to 45 offset when I was in the same conundrum as you but can't recall 40. You can try and use this site to compare https://www.willtheyfit.com/

POST 3Original post

I think Coulstar has run 10" et40 on his car. They will be very tight though... you may need to stick with a 265, or run a bit more camber.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks both. I should probably add my car sits low, not much higher than standard gt3 ride height so this will potentially add to the issue I guess. I think the seller has been running them on a camber too as he does mention unequal tyre wear across the width. Would arch rolling help?

POST 5Original post

Yes, you'd have no issues with rolled arches... gives another 10mm of clearance. I'm lowered 30mm, running et50 equivalent, around 1.25* camber with a 265, and there's still some room... just not sure there's another 10mm. Sites like will they fit only tell you the net change in off set... but when you get close it's impossible to tell if they'll rub without actually having the wheels on the car and running the suspension through it's travel. Different tyre makes have different sidewall profiles too.. so while one make might be ok, another will rub. Personally, I'd try to avoid running more camber if the car is used regularly.

POST 6Original post

I'm sure I'd read that the early cars had a much shallower lip and didn't need rolling but I could be talking total rubbish there. There's plenty of other wheels available so unless these are the dream may be easier to look at other options that don't need crazy camber and rolling, unless your going drifting or something

POST 7Original post

This is mine with 285 rear with a 7mm spacer. No clearance problems at all. I have however just bought 15mm hubcentric for the rear as the 7mm are a flat spacer and at high speed I'm getting a slight vibration from the rear. Mine is about 30mm drop. lightshot

POST 8Original post

Says in your profile you have a 996.2. They came with rolled arches from the factory so you could go quite a bit further.

POST 10Original post

Im embarrassed to say I cant remember. When im home ill whip a wheel off and have a look.

POST 11Original post

Et57 front and Et58 rear on mine. +15mm front and rear with spacers.

POST 12Original post

:thumb: so your now running with the equivalent of a et43 with the 285s so a 10 mm wider tyres than the op is looking at going for. Did you get any scrubbing or have to change the camber for the new spacers? The wheels look like they are sitting really nicely in the picture and love the white I've not seen that colour 996 before but looks really good.

POST 13Original post

Thanks very much. Yes I think with 15mm spacer fitted it will be et43. In the pic it's got the 7mm spacer. Even with the extra 8mm I can't see any issues with rubbing at all. To be honest it's probably lower than 40mm as well.

POST 15Original post

I have 996.2 C2 and I'm running 18x10 ET40 with 285/30 rubber without any issues. Car is lowered 30-40mm and if I remember right the camber is adjusted to about -2 degrees. Tyres Fits fine inside arches without rubbing or poking.
