Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

2004 996 cabriolet. The leather in my seatback has split along the highest horizontal seam in the middle of the seatback. It's not very noticeable until you apply hand pressure somewhere in the seatback. I'm sure I could take it to an upholstery shop and get it fixed for a couple hundred bucks, but I'm trying to see if some ingenius Rennlister has come up with a good alternative that saves me from leaving at an upholstery shop for a few days. It's not noticeable, but I know it's there! Thanks!

POST 2Original post

There are mobile upholstery guys who can probably come do something like that at your house, look it up

POST 3Original post

I had a small strip of leather replaced (left edge of the seat back) a few years ago and it cost me $475. Next time I'll just buy seat covers.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That's kind of along the lines of what I was thinking. For about $600 or so, you can get all new leather. Thanks!
