Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

This picture explains it all. I’d like to use the Sea Sucker bike rack once in a while and it just works if spoiler stays down. I don’t want to find out what happens if the spoiler is activated. Is there a non permanent way to keep it down?

POST 3Original post

This. Shouldn't be exceeding those speeds with a suction cup bike mount anyway. I believe if you manually raise and lower the spoiler, that it will retain the position you left it in for the remainder of that drive cycle. But I could be wrong... You could also pull the fuse. I know on the 986 , the fuse is for the spoiler and rear trunk release. So keep your helmet and water bottle in the frunk. I can't confirm if this is the same for the 987 though.

POST 4Original post

Fuse F3 on the 987.2 , and yes, it also controls rear control unit, rear lid release and two-tone horns.

POST 5Original post

A long delayed reply on this. Given how much I love my Porsche and the ability to transport a bike, I ended up buying another Sea Sucker rack - the Komodo, which is eye wateringly expensive but oh, so versatile and elegant. Its design clears the spoiler, not that I want to drive fast enough to trigger it. But the other Sea Sucker I had was tricky mounting for the wheel holder below the spoiler - not confidence inspiring.

POST 6Original post

Just a question. How long, how frequently are you using this? With only one road bike? I have concerns that the Sea Sucker might dent/deform the trunk and hood cover on the long run. I would use it with 29' mountain bike

POST 7Original post

@tdinya dont buy it - it can’t be used with a mountain bike due mainly I think to the long wheelbase of those types of bikes. My gravel bike will fit barely. No deformation though - but I only put it on for transport and keep the trunk clear the rest of the time. To transport a mountain bike I suspect the Bike Racks for Porsche Boxster, Cayman, Audi TT, Jaguar F Type, BMW Z4, and other Sports Cars is the only solution for you.
