Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

The tank is just to have instant response, I have the switch and if I pre prepare it for quiet mode by pressing the button before starting the engine is takes a couple seconds initially at loud volume to build the vacuum to go quiet, once running switching on and off is instant, so you don't need the reservoir really, it just gives you faster switching by the button, especially not if you are going to manually open and close from the engine bay.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I got the PSE mufflers without the electronic/vacuum lines installed. Valves are always open. Could I just put a T-coupler to one of the existing vacuum lines and connect them to the mufflers to get them to be always be closed? Maybe even some kimd of small and discrete manual valve in the enginebay so I can manually switch it? In my mind this would work just fine, but originally there should be this vacuum tank? What for? Regards, Jimmy

POST 2Original post

Yes, If you tee in to the vacuum tank after the one way valve you will keep them closed. I did some videos on the whole installation starting here. MC

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks! But do I even need the vacuum tank? Cant I just put a T coupler after the oneway valve and route it directly to the actuators on the mufflers? Great videos BTW!

I can drive around with PSE most of the time and enjoy the sound and quiet it down with the press of a button if say I'm driving through a neighbourhood at night or just ticking the engine over waiting for someone. It's just a button a relay and a valve to get it working.
