Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
Either issue is probably going to require the dealer or an indy to solve.
Leading evidence: 'probably going' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'probably going' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check service record' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Played around with the clutch switch and turned it over and it started right up (not sure if it was the switch or remnants of the brake cleaner) then it died....it may be that and/or something else leading all the way up o the fuel pump...we'll know when the flatbed gets here and I get it to the shop.

The repair probably wont be the problem....the pressure from the wife to sell will be unbearable...she HATES car repairs and will now say, "Isnt it time for a more sensible car...like a Lexus?"....Ughhh.....

How much did it cost you to replace the fuel pump?

If it is clogged, sometimes turning the ignition on and off a few times can build up enough pressure to sustain a few seconds of run time, just a thought.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Turns over like normal, just doesnt start. Was running perfect last night....any ideas? I checked the fuel pump fuses and they were ok....have a half a tank of gas so its got gas...ideas? But it just turns over like its out of gas....would the fuel pump just let go like that? No warning? Anything that I can check???? HELP??????
Keep trying to start it, I have had mine be a little tempermental. If it is stumbling to start, hold the pedal to the floor and see if that helps.
Some engine basics I would use to rule out fuel or ignition.
If none of the above works, take the intake duct off the throttle body and shoot some starter fluid/ carb cleaner/barke cleaner (watch out on the brake cleaner, it can mess up stuff). Make sure to put intake badk on.
If it runs a little then dies, you know you have ignition and you look towards the fuel issue.
If it still will not run, the ignition is the problem since you provided a fuek source.
Either issue is probably going to require the dealer or an indy to solve.
I am wondering if the igniton switch is the problem? The "start" position can be engaged while the "on" position is toast causing the car to turn over but nothing else getting power.
Does the instrument panel warning lights (idiot liights) turn on when in the "on" position? If no lights with key from "off" to "on", the switch is at fault.
Thanks its not stumbling at all, just turning over with the starter motor...question clutch switch....would this be an issue as it turns over whether the clutch is in or not and I thought it had to be in to start....its the same whether the clutch is in or not......
I dont think the car should turn over at all without pushing the clutch in. I think you found the source. But why it wont start, I dont understand? I am sure that switch is cheap and easy to replace since it is similar to the brake light switch. I am not sure that this is the problem but the fact the car is turning over without the clutch in is wrong.
Update...Took the throttle body hose off, sprayed brake cleaner in, then tried starting, it stumbled started and turned off.....so its a fuel delivery issue...off to my local Porsche independent....
I wonder if the switch prevents the plugs or fuel to start the car... check the swicth thats butted up against the clutsch pedal, make sure it is actuating and not get stuck when the clutch is depressed with your hand. this swtch can be easily removed (by twisting it off) and can be switched with your hand while turning the ignition.

5 seconds max...never got to a smooth idle. Then kept stumbling after. I dont THINK its a fuel pump, I think its a switch of some sort...maybe the clutch, maybe something else...but its on its way to the indy right now...I guess it could be a fuel pump, this one has 140k miles on it...lol...
I don't think it's the switch because once the engine is engaged the switch wouldn't matter. Sounds like a fuel pump, or a small dwarf living inside the engine.
I would let then know about the safety switch for sure. That could be dangerous, your car starting without the clutch in.
Yes, your mileage could point to the fuel pump and it sounds very possible now. You got your monies worth out of it.
Has the fuel filter ever been replaced?

Tell her it was designed by Lexus, as all the air-heads keep saying about our cars. The only difference is, is that it does everything better.
Oh, my friend's wife's IS300 has a bad lifter, so much for perfect quality.
Funny she had a GS300 and I remember the car being there a number of times when we first started dating...I have to remind her, but her answer is "they give you a Lexus loaner if there is a problem and they have 24 hour tech departments so they will work on your car all night to get it done as quickly as possible..." Yeah, but it still broke down.....
How much did it cost you to replace the fuel pump? I think I may have the same problem. If I drive it alot, it seems as though it almost stumbles to start instead of starting right on key turn. Also sometimes I have to try twice before it starts. Is this the same problem you have?
I just picked up my car last saturday so maybe I am just not use to it yet? I had an S2000 before the upgrade. I love this car!!! It's awesome!!
