Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that suspect a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suspected cause
Ive had this problem - It is very likely the bolt has worn or suffered from corrosion.
Leading evidence: 'bolt has worn or suffered' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'bolt has worn or suffered' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace "bar" and few other bits and pieces' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
- I had to replace the "bar" and few other bits and pieces.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi,
Slight problem, I need to remove the passenger side headlight to change a bulb, car is RHD, the bar is just spinning round quite freely rather than ejecting the light. I can see a silver metal cable in the hole when the gromit is removed to put the bar in is this anything to do with it?
how else can I get the headlight out?!
:?:
Silver metal cable is probably the emergency bonnet release its just coiled away and stashed under the light - are you doing the drivers side?
You might want to jiggle the light unit a bit - though it sounds as though if the metal bar is spinning the base plate (plastic might be cracked I don't think it should be able to spin through 360 degrees).
But if its spinning it sounds as though its free of the lugs in the headlight unit.
Without wishing to tempt fate perhaps do the other side to understand the mechanics of the unit - unlikely they'll both be broken - but don't apply any force gently does it and it should eject the unit on the first 1/4 turn.
cheers vlad,
Made abit of progress on this..
I'm doing the passenger side light, I've pulled the cable out and it appears to go towards the bonnet so makes sense.
I've put a socket in the hole and it dos'nt spin round, it's really tight though, I've put quite abit of pressure on it to the stage where I can see flex in the light unit but still no popping out is happening.
Can you get to it if I remove wheel and inner arch liner and push from behind? or is more force needed?!
With the socket in the hole - it should just take a 1/4 - 1/2 turn, anti-clockwise . No more.
Not sure about removing the wheel liner - probably would give access - but am not sure.

- I will get the part number out to you hopefully sometime in the evening.
If you do the work yourself (relatively simple) it not that expensive to resolve but you will need some WD and few basic tools...
