This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi I am wondering can i get my suspension upgraded from an OPC, looking for lower ride height. The reason I ask is for warranty reasons OPC will void warranty if any after market items are added.

POST 2Original post

Heres my two penith worth, although i'm new around these parts so this could be complete guff !!! :thumb: As far as i'm aware the warranty will only be void on the parts you replace, in this case suspension, everything else will still be covered. The warranty is only void if the part you replace causes the damage. Like I say that could be complete tosh but thats how i understand it. :thumb:

POST 3Original post

Sorry but that isn't right. Porsche can (and may well) invalidate the total warranty package if there are non-Porsche parts on the vehicle. Although a lot of common sense approach to this depends on your OPC and also possibly your relationship with them. I'm looking to get the M030 sports suspension package, rather than aftermarket manufacturer options available, for this very reason.

POST 4Original post

But how does that statement tie to the section at the bottom of this page? http://www.911uk.com/template.php?page=91 I'm not a lawyer but it seems to me these two statements seem contradictory... any ideas which one is correct??

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Now that statement is very interesting but I don't think OPC would have any of it??

POST 6Original post

The issue there, as I understand it, is that under EU rules a manufacturer cannot withdraw a "new car" warranty due to another garage doing work on or replacing parts of your car, as long as they do things to factory standards etc. Porsche get around this as the extended warranty is viewed differently to the new car warranty (under these rules) and they can impose whatever terms and conditions they like for this type of warranty.
