After over a month or comparison of several hundred quotes and bartering I can report that the best value is 1st National
Strong 2nd was Adrian Flux who,after hearing the aboves quote lost out only to extra costs of period payment interest charges.
There quote for cash was slightly better
Battle hard breathern they will all pick your pockets if you let them!
Tips:

Reduce your annual milage
No mods
Always quote your best quote so far and be truthfull
Quote how many cars in your household and how many you have use of
I'm sure it's all very postcode dependant too.....

I also live in a city where car crime is pretty bad.
