Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Does Anybody Know - If This Wheel Will Fit? Porsche Part Number: 996 347 983 10 S40 Can I Transfer the Airbag & Bits from My Standard CS Wheel onto It? Any Help Much Appreciated - I Have the chance to buy this part 'new old stock' at a great price...............

POST 2Original post

I seem to recall the 986/996 wheel is held on with a nut unlike the 987/997 wheel is held on with a torx. You would also have to investigate the airbag connection.

POST 3Original post

The center torx location "looks" like it would fit from the pictures, however I'm not so sure the rest of the connections would match up especially the hole top center for the clip that connects the wires to the steering column. front view of the 997/987 sport wheel below: theres also a couple other "necessary" holes in the plate for the connectors dealing with where the wires would be located for the multifunction controls.

POST 4Original post

The airbag will be completely different between a 987 and 986 so not a direct replacement. Better to get alan gunn (e bay seller) in the USA or K Baggs trimming in the UK to retrim your existing wheel if you are looking for something different. Dont forget also that the sport wheel and standard wheel on the 987 have different airbags so be careful if you are buying used items from e bay.
