Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Reported cause
Common cab problem was separation of plastic window from canvas.
Leading evidence: 'separation of plastic window' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Ditto above remarks, mine's a '99 cab, ocean blue, 54K, had RMS changed with clutch when I purchased it used, balance is just routine maintenance stuff.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Everyone,
I am looking at a '99 C2 Cab with 57.5k miles. It appears to be in excellent shape.
Is there anything in particular I should be wary of? Anything to tell my mechanic to take a look at for this particular model? Lastly, what would you pay for this?
Thanks!
Rear Main Seal was common.
The interior plastics were lower grade than the '00, consider that difference if it matters to you.
Mechanically, check the top mechanism and fabric. Common cab problem was separation of plastic window from canvas.
As per usual, make sure everything mechanical checks out, oil leakage, blah blah blah, electrical, blah, blah, blah. Look for a thread on common porsche issues, there are a few and have him focus on those. There are many threads about common problems!
Good Luck and Welcome!

Runs great, you'll love it!
Looks like I should probably look at a CPO 996, playing Russian Roulette doesn't sound like a lot of fun.
What kind of premium should I be looking to spend on a CPO '99 or '00? The private party cars I've been looking at are all hovering around $30k.
Not really sure. But when you shop around consider the premium versus the peace of mind. If you feel more comfortable with that warranty than you should move toward that direction even if the premium is higher. You'll get more out of the Porsche experience that way.
P.S. don't buy a Porsche at a Ford dealership.
Here is a similar thread from July. This would have been a little hard to search for, so you get a freebie on the DAFS
