all sorted, it was the connectors mouthing brackets which were broken, i broken them all off so the connector and wire would come through and simply plugged it in myself to the back of the light!

If the other site is not working as well then check the fuse if not then I would say is 99.9% snapped cable/connector

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hi as the above says, I put a new fog light bulb (H7 as stamped on the unit) into the slot for one yesterday. When I bought my Litronics second hand (they were mint condition) they were missing the foglight bulb in one unit. now when i put the unit back in (several times) the whole unit doesnt work! I have tried removing fog bulb in case that was some how the problem, doesnt work though! So i have no indicator! or lights! on that side Any ideas please guys!? Kind Regards Edward p.s. Interesting Halfords bulb guide says for 911 you should have a H4 foglight, which is wrong

POST 2Original post

Check if the cables on the connector are fine. If you have a multimeter then it should be easy to see where the problem is. Its more likely to the the negative/black cable that is faulty. If the other site is not working as well then check the fuse if not then I would say is 99.9% snapped cable/connector

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Theogeor, I will get a garage to have a look, I dont have any Multimeters etc I preseume any garage can do this, are they standard Bosch connectors? I cant think the Bosch designed lights have unique Porsche connectors? Thanks Edward

POST 4Original post

Sounds like the connector on the headlight tray is not meeting up to where it plugs on the back of the headlight unit. Check all the electrical pins are straight in the connector on the tray Use silicone grease - I smear it on the slider pegs to aid insertion and on the electrical contacts to keep the damp out

POST 5Original post

Good advice from Lloyd but be careful that you don't use too much grease on the connectors as the grease is an insulator - you'll need the metal to metal contact to make the connection. Perhaps copper grease, as used on brakes might be more suitable for the electrical connections :dont know: Ray :thumb:

POST 6Original post

As Lloyd says, check the connector on the tray. They have a nasty habit of slipping in the bracket, so the socket on the headlight doesn't engage properly (or not at all).

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

CHeers guys, good advice from all, off to the West Coast of Scotland for a week so will have a dabble when im back! Kind Regards Edward

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have now had a chance to take headlight out in Daylight, as you say, its exactly this, the connector on the tray has moved back, and is looking very shabby and loose, the slots where it goes into the tray are wornand broken, soineedanew one as the connector just goes back. Does anyone have the part number? Presumably its a "Bosch" part, not a "Porsche" part? will prob get my local normal garage to do it (assuming I cant?) as dont think I need a porsche specialist to change a conncetor? Thanks Edward

POST 9Original post

I think it's item 20 - £6.72+VAT from your OPC.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Richard, most useful as ever! What is the guide you pull this imformation from, and prices? I think your right, no.19 looks like the opposite plug from the light itself. Wonder how one transferes the wires into the new plug? Kind Regards Edward

POST 11Original post

I'm not sure what contact sockets they use in that particular connector. You might need an extractor tool, or sometimes you can get the contacts out using a tiny screwdriver.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

all sorted, it was the connectors mouthing brackets which were broken, i broken them all off so the connector and wire would come through and simply plugged it in myself to the back of the light! simple! cheers guys
