Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I discovered, with the help of this forum that it was the WINDSCREEN seal peeling above the drivers door that was loose, not the door itself

i put a post on here a while back about my drivers window whistling air at speeds of 40 or over...i changed the rubber as it seemed a bit sunken in and old compared to the passenger side but it still whistles =-( its better but quite annoying when you know you shouldnt hear anything...do i have to strip the door and adjust the window angle?

If this has no effect use the same technique to check the lower section of the door from the waist rail to the bottom.

If you find your gap then apply a thin film of vulcanised rubber solution(after cleaning the seal with gunk and a cloth) on the affected area of the seal, let it cure then give it a run.

A car that has had a prev accident repair can suffer a small pillar mis-alignment which can often never be sorted???
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

hi guys
i put a post on here a while back about my drivers window whistling air at speeds of 40 or over...i changed the rubber as it seemed a bit sunken in and old compared to the passenger side but it still whistles =-( its better but quite annoying when you know you shouldnt hear anything...do i have to strip the door and adjust the window angle? whos the best for doing this as im not sure i can do it myself...if thats what needs doing.
cheers guys
Compare your NS and OS doors immediately behind the A Pillar. It should be underflush to the A Pillar all the way from the waist to the top. Compare the degree of underflush from R to LHS. If the drivers door is less underflush than the passenger door this could be an indicator.
How does the back edge of the drivers door glass match to the rear fixed quarter light? Does the drivers door kick out a little bit at the top compared to the fixed glass?. If this is OK, try putting a little continuous coating of vaseline on the rubber (no not the condom  ) start with the length adjacent to the A Pillar. Drive and Check. If no difference clean off the vaseline, of the A Pillar section, and apply Vaseline to the upper section along the door header rail. Drive and Check. Finally repeat for the back edge to the fixed quarterlight.
Hopefully this will identify where the air is getting between the body and the rubber. Its more likely in the window area BUT
If this has no effect use the same technique to check the lower section of the door from the waist rail to the bottom.
You can send me a PM and we can chat it over on the phone if that would help.

Coat the seal in rubber grease(deep red in colour) then close it. Open the door and check that the seal has left a thin film around the entire door frame. Any gaps will tell you where your whistle is probably coming from.

I had exactly the same problem, except mine was over about 80mph, got really bad at 120mph etc but dies down bizzarely above this speed
I discovered, with the help of this forum that it was the WINDSCREEN seal peeling above the drivers door that was loose, not the door itself
Try this and see if yours is stuck down, I stuck mine down with Silicone, bingo!
There is a fix on here etc
