Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Installed new pads in the front OEM, and went for a mountain drive today. after 50 miles or more the steering shudders when braking. it was 100 miles drive but its still like this. Any tips or recommendations? Car is an S year 2006 and has 12,000 miles.

POST 2Original post

New pads usually require some "break in" time. Did you allow for that?

POST 3Original post

Did you "bed-in" the new pads? If not, then you probably have residue from the old pads n the rotor ... Here's a bedding procedure from Pagid (courtesy of KS-CS) PAGID Racing Even OEM pads need to be re-bedded - my guess would be if you can find a safe place to do 4-5 threshold stops from about 80 mph, it will clear up your problem. brad

POST 4Original post

I also had such an observartion... when I installed a set of Pagid Orange in preparation for a DE... I was really worried, but followed the bed in procedure... and the shudder went away -- but interestingly, the low speed stops still had some shudder untill totally bed in. I've switch back to OEM pads for day-to-day driving and did an abrevidated bed in... totally without any such shudder. So, go off somewhere safe and do some maintenance.. !! D.
