Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

I would suggest that you simply go to 285 on your existing 10J rears (which is fine and a very popular alternative to running 265 - there are plenty of reasons not to move on to 19" rims).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi I have a narrow body c4 with 10j on the rears with 65 offset and 265 tyres, all pretty normal. I am looking at getting some 19's from Porsche shop with the same offset of 65. My question is if the offset is the same can I squeeze 295's on the rear and buy the 11j rims? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Hi Barriejames, just before you go ahead and buy, have you also checked out the weights of the new wheels you're putting on? Have you checked the forum for threads on after-market wheels etc.... As you may be aware, all standard Porsche wheels are reknowned for their lightness (eg my Carrera II alloys weigh 9.5kg and 10.5kg front & rear respectively). Adding wheels (not to mention larger tyres) which are of greater mass will affect your handling, blunt your acceleration as well as braking, loosen your cornering and wear out your pads sooner than any stock items. My advice is to ponder these facts against the great looks you would have otherwise fitting non-standard wheels. If you've taken all this into consideration, please ignore the post! ~ Maxie

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the respnoses. What are the reasons for not having 19's with the same offset? I am not to put off by weight as do not drive hard ever. I really just want to know if it will upset the balance of the car, if the geo will need to be done and if 19s would have any safety issues with regard to the set up etc? I drive my 911 normally as I would a focus (waste really) so not talking about the outer limit stuff on the edge etc?
