Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I noticed my exhaust was sitting low and a quick look confirmed the exhaust hanger has failed. Just looking for advice on other parts required to replace beyond the hanger itself and the exhaust pipe clamps which are looking rough. And just entirely out of interest is it a common problem? Photo taken from the back bumper looking in towards the gearbox Thanks, Dunc.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looks like it's about £600 to replace this part and it's a different P/N for gen 2 cars, and also different between pdk and manual, not surprisingly. Slightly better photo of the issue, you can see it's the area with the smallest cross section (unsurprisingly) that snapped. When you include other exhaust components to do the fix you're in the same ball park as coolant pipe fixing costs. Cheers, Dunc.

POST 3Original post

If you need one I have one laying around. It may be 987.2 however.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Jay, I would have bitten your hand off a week ago It's a 987.2 manual but I've taken the hit and ordered from Porsche now. Thanks for the offer Here's what it looked like once I removed it: Edited by dunc_sx on Friday 18th August 23:16
