Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I understand the standard size for the back on the 996T is 295x30x18, so can I use the slightly higher 35 profile on the back of a 996T or are there rubbing/rolling circumference issues with them?:dont know:

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, picked up a set of very nice 997 OEM C2 wheels in 8.5J and 10.5J x 18 which have nearly new Pilot Sport 4s on the back in 295x35x18 on the back pair. I understand the standard size for the back on the 996T is 295x30x18, so can I use the slightly higher 35 profile on the back of a 996T or are there rubbing/rolling circumference issues with them?:dont know: Front will be 235x40x18. Thanks! :thumb:

POST 2Original post

Here's the result of a tyre-size calculator: FITMENT NOT RECOMMENDED! The percentage change is 4.65% and the circumference change is 29.5mm.

POST 3Original post

The most import thing is whether the circumference is the same front and rear or not. MC

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok thanks, looks like I need to sell the tyres on. :thumb:

Now for sale. http://911uk.com/viewtopic.php?p=1550793#1550793

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks. :thumb: Anyone know what the threshold is for the change in circumference for the back vs the front? I just realised the front tyres are also slightly the wrong profile for 996 - the standard is 225 40 18, the ones on the wheels are 235 40 18. So, the fronts have a 1.2% greater rolling circumference and the rears have a 4.7% greater rolling circumference, giving a net comparative increase in the rear rolling circumference of 3.5%. Is that within tolerance? :dont know: All calculations done here: https://www.tyresizecalculator.com/tyre-wheel-calculators/tire-size-calculator-tire-dimensions

POST 7Original post

My understanding is that it's not recommended to exceed a 2% difference front to rear.... MF

POST 8Original post

:agree: With the rears being larger than the front. MC

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the advice, guys. :thumb:
