on mine we ended up using adhesive set through the mesh, i left some heavy objects overnight to hold it down.
Leading evidence: 'Use adhesive' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace radiators and condensors' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I used ally mesh from Ebay, much easier to bend to fit and very cheap.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am planning to change my front condensers and think it might be worth fitting some mesh across the vents from behind when the bumper is off.
From searching a few threads it seems most of the pics have disappeared and based on my previous experience of trying to "stick" mesh to protect my TVR radiator, I am hoping there is a neater solution?
I am aware of Zunsports but the options on their website look different to the front of my car and all suggestions how to DIY are most welcome!
Thanks in advance
This detailed thread has plenty of pictures amongst the DIY/How-To procedure.

I used Sikaflex, like mentioned above, the goop oozes out of the mesh and basically locks it in situ, sticks like ***** to a cat !
On the 997 there's no means of lashing zip ties to anything other than thro the cowling and looping back thro and that would just look poor !
Not sure how the 996 is behind the front bumper but the 997 aero Kit is flush behind the lower vents, the ducting or cowling that protrudes from the inside out towards the bumper, will help keep the vents in situ
I fixed mine in place with stainless self tapping screws into the rear of the bumper, it was how the Rennline part worked but their's weren't stainless! There's plenty of meat in the plastic where it is at 90 degrees to he front and it's easy to avoid them going through the plastic.
Tie wraps would be reversible but visible from the front which I didn't want.
Those rennline grilles looked the business and the way they fastened on had been thought about.
I was flummoxed trying to find a suitable bracket to Use to grip the mesh otherwise I'd have screwed mine in, I was just a tad dubious about having a protruding screw tip going thro the headlight washer hose as it all looked a tad close down there. I'm not good with fixings and DIY type Accidents are common practice for me, I tend to create far more work than I tackle.
I just completed mine after replacing radiators and condensors. The glue route has worked fine and will be removable when required. I used this glue:

Mine are cable tied after misreading a how to. Always planned on redoing it but although it looks a bit crap, no one has noticed them til I've pointed them out and they've been on there 4 years now so I'm not really bothered tbh.
The Rennlines are V expensive for a couple of bits of mesh (that doesn't fit well) and some self tapping screws. I used ally mesh from Ebay, much easier to bend to fit and very cheap.
I used Zipspeed mesh that I bought at Halfords. I used wafer head self drilling screws. As Mike has said there is plenty of meat on the insert part of the bumper to screw to. I also used some black mastic on awkward areas.
Same here, I bought a sheet for £17 off the bay of E !
made a template and fashioned my own, as you say it bends very well, the Rennline jobbies are extortionate ! It gave me the idea tho I just fell short on screwing then in, the closest fastener I could come up with was those gold coloured bent over clips for fastening trim to with the hole already in, I thought about snipping them where they bend over and dremmeling a bit out of the middle to hook into the mesh and anchor them in, I burnt my enthusiasm at this point and that's as far as that thought process went hence the Sikaflex ! They bond windscreens in with it so I know It's gonna hold !!
I could post a pic to show you but I haven't got any of the grilles in situ ?
I didn't fit the mesh in the end. I might do in the future but for now, happy to leave it without. The main reason being there seems to be two mouldings that sit around the condenser covers and I wasn't sure how tight they were, plus they seem to have stayed remarkably clear compared with some I have seen on YouTube.
Thanks for the suggestions.
