0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Check brakes, body panels' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check brakes, body panels' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I need some advise. Car is a 2003 black on black 996 turbo w/39000 miles. Car has service history, Cars is in perfect condition and dealer want 47000 is this out of line? Thanks for any help.
Hi 72 four door,
I'm editing my post because I mis-read your post but I think the asking price is fair and in line. I'd still make an offer and see if you get a knee-jerk reaction from the sales person.
Generally, I'd say that depends on whether it has the X50 option. If it does not then thats on the higher end of the price range which is typical of a dealer price and it may be well worth that price if it's really in "perfect" condition. If it does have the X50 then that would be a great price. Price could also be affected by other OEM options, whether there are any modifications... Low mileage doesnt guarantee perfect condition, did you have it inspected?
If you cant perform PPI yourself- look for one - Even after PPI things can pop up!. but its always better than nothing. I bought my 03 with 38k miles i put about 5k miles in past 7months. I DD. I paid 37k for it, had to fix minor things here and there, to cut story short, After driving it for a week, i found out front boots leaking - guy cleaned it pretty darn well- replaced that, clutch was slipping on hard pulls, replaced my clutch, spark plugs/coils - typical thing, car was misfiring - It cost me about 5k to fix everything - car runs pretty good now, knock on wood. I say, when buying used 996 Turbo, you never know what you getting your self into, even when the owner, car dealer says it runs good! ---
I suggest you to get the car fully warmed up, and do hard pull from 2nd gear up to red line, and 3rd gear up to red line. (2nd gear pop out problem) or misfiring (car needs spark plugs or coils)
or to check if the clutch is slipping) put the car on the lift. and look for leaks. check brakes, body panels for gaps. good luck
If it is in excellent condition, the price might even be less than it is actually worth. I believe the 996 Turbos, if well maintained, are going to begin appreciating in value. I have a pristine, black on black '03 996 Turbo with less than 18,000 miles and the EVOMS Turbo performance package. It is not for sale, and I would not sell it unless I had an offer approaching $60.000 and then I might not take the offer. It's a very fine, very fast, trouble free, beautiful piece of art! Komac
I agree with Shadetree930. I just picked up a 2001 996 turbo and traded my 02 C4 Cab. Ended up costing a little over $40K. I would jump on it. These cars are so much bang for the buck its scary.

Way out of line. I was recently thinking about a 996TT and found plenty of turbos around the $40 to $45K price with low mileage.
My advice is drive one. I did and after 20 seconds took it back to the dealer with a no thanks. I did not like the car in every facet.
I bought a 2006 997S and love it. I sold my 1997 993 for what the 997S cost. And to the purist out there please don't talk to me about the last air cooled Porsche. My 997s has an AC that actually keeps me cool in Fresno. When I take it skiing the heated seats are likely to keep my ass warm, while listening to my Bose surround sound system. My 993 never did that. Others will say oh but the 993 was hand built. Your right but I'd rather have a robot build my cars with the precision no human could duplicate.
I really thought I would regret selling the 993 and did shed a tear when it rolled away. For my needs the 997S is a far better car against the 993 & 996 models as a daily driver, not on the track.
I will agree with everyone else and say the 993 was a special car and the sexiest Porsche ever made aside from the Carrera GT & GT2 & GT3 cars.
