Suggestion

bradcraft, it would look just fine in a Cayman, it's double DIN so you would not have any gaps\slots and you can use the volcano gray 987\997 trim kits available on ebay for the surrounding bezel.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hey, I noticed this Double-Din unit from JVC. It happens to come in silver (not quite volcano grey). JVC Mobile Entertainment \ Model KW-XC400 \ Introduction You can get it for about $200 and it includes the following features: CD player for MP3s and WMAs Sat Radio Ready (just add tuner and antenna) Ipod compatible ($50 add-on) Aux-in on the front and for some reason... a cassette player. The sound gets reasonable reviews on crutchfield as well. How hard would it be to get this to look "normal" in the cayman dash? Would the trim over the top of it cost more than the radio?

POST 2Original post

Hey, I dont think the problem with replacing the CDR24 is finding another good unit. There are many to chose from. I believe the problem is with disconecting the BOSE with all the fibre optics it has. Just my opinion from what I have seen on this site, I could be wrong though.

POST 3Original post

bradcraft, it would look just fine in a Cayman, it's double DIN so you would not have any gaps\slots and you can use the volcano gray 987\997 trim kits available on ebay for the surrounding bezel. Upgrading is easy as long as you don't have the Bose.

POST 4Original post

IMO, it would look cheesy in the Cayman's dash, and degrade the overall interior appearance.
