Do you know of any where someone has installed the dension in the front trunk, then run the cable into the glove box or center console?

Suggestion
I just did the installation in the front trunk and I'm in the process of running the wire up front...the cable that comes with it is too short so be sure you order the extension cable.

The user interface rather sucks on the CDR24 head but if you have all of your music on one playlist and use shuffle (random play) it's fine.

I might order the Dension software for my CS and wondered if anyone knows where I could find the install instructions? I did an OEM Nav and Dension install in my S4, took about 4 hours, but went fine. I'm hoping this is something I can do myself with the CS also. TIA

I just did the installation in the front trunk and I'm in the process of running the wire up front...the cable that comes with it is too short so be sure you order the extension cable. There are several articles about how to connect into power (I used the CD player's power and ground). Note that for the CDr24 you have to remove the CD Changer. Once I figured that out, everything set up fine. The user interface rather sucks on the CDR24 head but if you have all of your music on one playlist and use shuffle (random play) it's fine.

thanks for the reply. I don't have a CD changer, so that shouldn't be a problem. The wiring and everything looks fairly strait forward but getting it into the cabin seems to be the difficult part.

I have done the exact install that you are referring to. I had a CDR24, installed the iPod in my center console, and put the unit in the boot where the cd changer would be. I have now upgraded to PCM, but I still have my CDR24 on the shelf. I'll be happy to answer any questions that you may have.

Hi Eric, If I decide to get one, I will order from you. What is the interface like with the CDR24? Does anything show up on the screen? Is it still all controlled by the HU? If I mount the unit in the trunk, will I have to buy extra equipment to route the ipod into the center console? I do not have the CD changer, so that shouldnt matter. Thanks, Kent
