My alarm goes off a few times a week for no reason. Any suggestions to what this might be. The car is untouched everytime this happens?
Drew
There have been a few similar posts that seem to be related to the location where the car is parked. It appears to be in shopping centers or other places that might generate a conflicting signal. Does yours always happen in the same place?
false alarms
No it happens at my house in the driveway or garage and also at my office where there really isnt much going on around. Just will be sitting in the office and randomly goes off. Should I take it in?

Unless there's a family of ferrets living in your car unbeknownst to you, looks like yes. Actually, dealership either way -- you probably don't want to get in a fight in close quarters with a family of ferrets.
If PIWIS can access the history of which sensor/switch triggered the alarms, you're probably set. If not, woe, woe...
no ferrets
Okay I checked all over today and I couldn't find any ferrets. So looks like i will take it in. Thank you for you advice I will update when the dealer tells me the issue.

Drew
You did add an aftermarket suspension and the extra firmness "might" help trigger an over sensitive alarm. Bad guess probably but that might be what you dealer tells you.
alarms
The problem was happening prior to the new suspension and doenst seem to have gotten worse or better from that so far.
The interior sensor in the car is microwave and sits under the center console next to the handbrake. Since the technology is microwave it should not be affected by wind or car movement (thats what the extra tilt sensor option is for). There have been cases of false alarms for the interior sensor caused by having metal objects (including coins) in the centre console pocket under the arm rest. You could try taking out any objects in the center console to see if matters improve. The other sensed parts of the car that can cause problems are the front and rear trunk covers and the passenger glove box cover. Just check that all the covers close tightly and there are no cloths or papers fouling any of the contacts on the glove compartment. I beleive the car is supposed to indicate the reason for the alarm trigger on return to the car by a sequence of flashes of the LED on the center console just above the stereo.
Thank you my problem is still there and happens atleast twice a week. Sometimes at say 3 am on a Wednesday night which is just wonderful to wake up to. I have tons of coins, metal pens, etc in the console. I am going to go clean that out right now. I am also going to check for the falses when I get back to see if I can get something from the light you suggested. I cannot take my car back to the dealer just yet because I am running an APR 100 Octane Program and I have a check engine light showing that I need to get off first. I just do not want to give them a reason for suggesting its done by me. Which will probably happen knowing the Champion Dealer down here. Thanks a lot Drew
