Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello everyone, I've been using my car as a daily recently. It's a 2002 3.6 Carrera RWD Manual. It's been driving flawlessly. It's got 81k miles on it and it's been cared for by the main dealer since new. It's 49c out here and it copes with absolutely no issues. It doesn't have the 3rd radiator as well. I thought this would give you all some comfort in the ability of the 996 and to just get on and enjoy it. If you've ever fitted a new central air vent in the cabin you'll know it's best suited to UK cars. Mine is a LHD and I'd much rather be sat on the other seat!

POST 3Original post

Why would one want to fit a new central air vent? Do these wear and become less effective somehow?!

POST 4Original post

Going to take a wild guess that you don't live in the UK then

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm between the UK and Middle East for my job, it hit 51c this week! I meant to say the central air vents which blow air in the cabin. The 996 has a strange shape plastic fitment behind the air vents which looks like an old gramophone shape. For UK cars it's ideal as it blows more air to the right side of the cabin. Run the air con the next time you drive and feel the difference in the pressure between the two air vents in the centre of the dashboard. Definitely not the best design when you're driving a LHD in intense heat. Glad to say the car is coping admirably.
