Hi everyone: Just a few photos of my IPHONE installation. The IPOD function works like any other IPOD with the Dension unit. I installed it on a Kudo mount -- matches the terracotta color exactly, texture pretty well.
The only issue I still have is that it will not charge when connected to the Dension unit. It does charge in my other cars with different IPOD setups. My nano charged just fine. I'm wondering if it takes too much current to charge for the Dension to handle, or if it is a firmware issue. Has anyone been able to get his/her IPHONE to charge from the Dension?
Jeff
Thanks Allen for the wallpaper.
Jeff
No prob! Glad you are enjoying your iPhone AND your Cayman. Loving mine and it will only get better and better with updates.
Jeff- what version of the dension software are you currently using? I have the same set up (I am using 2.05.03?? I think...) and the ipod component works great, however when i plug in the ipod it shows "accessory attached" and it will not let me control the iphone through the phone. It does show "charging" though on mine. CDR-24 BOSE, no changer.
If you continue to have problems maybe we can work through this together.
I am using a beta version 2.03. Dension then came out with an official release of it. Maybe I should try to load the latest version. I can control the phone when it is connected and use bluetooth; although, the bluetooth still has the echo issue that the caller hears.

I wish there was a way to eliminate the echo. My wife hears it and it renders the device almost unusable. Any thoughts? How far do you have the device away from the main dension unit?
Wow, that looks great! I'm going to have to get the Dension one of these days, just need to find someone I trust to install it.
Where did you get the mount?
The leather mount is made in Germany by Kudo. I got it through the Cingular/AT&T site. I think it directed me to another site, though. The plastic holder is made by Arcon, available directly.
I have the BTA up front in the trunk next to the Gateway. I had the same echo problem when I had it mounted in the cabin under the glovebox. I was really hoping it would work well, since it is difficult to remove the phone when a call comes in to answer it quickly.
I have a question about using the iPhone...when hooked up to the Dension can the phone be answered in speakerphone mode (with the call going out through the radio) if a call came in? I saw this demo'ed on a U-Tube video...very cool hands-free set up. I'm using a CDR24 with the Dension V2, which works great with several different iPods, but I haven't tried it yet in the cockpit...gotta fish the wire through the firewall first.
