But I've never tried it, and the D3 is supposed to automatically load your phonebook from your cell phone using the bluetooth module.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

I heard it is possible to download Contacts information from MS Outlook into an AVIC-D3, is that true? The manual says I need "Point". Who has it and how is it obtained?

POST 3Original post

The "Point" folder is a folder stored on old AVIC units that had flash-based media slots, all the contacts moved onto those units were stored in that folder. Essentially you can take the card, put it on your pc and copy the Point folder to a cd-r(w) and put it in the D3 to transfer contacts from the old AVIC unit to the new one. I assume you can use this method to transfer outlook contacts if you can export outlook contacts in the same format. I believe the format is vCard, which I know outlook can export to. You might want to try creating a folder named "POINT" and exporting some contacts to it in vCard format from Outlook (file > export > contacts), burn the folder to a cd and see if the unit loads. But I've never tried it, and the D3 is supposed to automatically load your phonebook from your cell phone using the bluetooth module. If it does not automatically load, you can manually force it to get the contacts by using the send contact information\send vcard option on your cell phone (usually found in contact options in your address book). - Suneet
