appreciate the advice...I wanted to upgrade to the sound system plus just for the wiring harness alone but my order cannot be changed now...slated to be completed march 20th.....just as well...I'll after-market a decent system....any suggestions to replace the standard cdr-24 and speakers?

sound speaker plus on Cayman....the website states this: my question is this in addition to the standard speaker setup on the cayman? what would be the total speakers with this package? appreciate any replies

If you are referring to the Bose premium sound package, there are a total of 9 speakers + 1 sub-wolfer. 2 mid-ranges in the rear, 2 wolfers and 2 tweeters in each door, 2 tweeters on the dash, a center channel on the dash and the sub-wolfer in the footwell of the passenger side (US).

That's strange, I see where you are looking. According to all other documentation Sound Package Plus has 9 speakers. Bose has speakers in all the same locations + the subwoofer. I think it may be the base audio system that only has 6 speakers and that is a typo on the configuration tool.

According to the Porsche-published Cayman Ordering Guide the Cayman 2.7 comes with the CDR-24, 2 x 25 watts with 4 speakers. Based on my personal experience, it sounds absolutely terrible. It is only good for news & spoken word, not music. I am shopping for upgrades as soon as the snow and ice stop falling! Again, according to the Porsche Cayman Ordering Guide, the Cayman S comes with the CDR-24, Sound Package Plus, 180 watts, 9-loudspeakers.

Sound Package has 4 speakers (standard on Cayman 2.7) Sound Package Plus has 9 speakers (optional on 2.7, standard on S) Bose has 10 speakers (optional on both)
