I have a 2009
Boxster
(base).
I will never have the vehicle on a track, it is a summer driver car for nice days and weekends.
I am thinking about getting radiator grills for the front and intake grills for the sides.
Has anyone used these or any similar products...and if so, any comments on your installation/use/quality?
Thank-you in advance,

I bought the fronts from the Radiator Grille Store - the ALWAYS have a 5% discount - just ask for it. Installation was a bit fiddly, but not awful. I've thought about the sides - but getting those grilles out - I haven't mastered the magic touch, and there are several different descriptions of what/where you have to pull on them, so I don't trust the DIY.
Front grills are a wise investment. Side grills aren't necessary as debris is very unlikely to ever enter and even if it did, there's just not anything that would get damaged to the point of worrying.
I have
Zunsport
grills on the front. Really nice quality and they fit perfectly.
I have $4
home depot
gutter guard grill covers on the front. They work great and are cheap!
Thank-you everyone, I appreciate all of your responses.
I ordered a front pair from Radiator Grille Store.

Resurrecting an old thread, but I'm in my third week of having an '08
Cayman S
in my garage. Went to look at the front intake areas last night and found a pile of leaves, trash, a cigarette butt and parts of a dead bird in the drivers side. Passenger side was limiited to leaves. I'm going to look at
Home Depot
for a suitable mesh to place in the grille openings. If not, I'll go with Radiator Grille Store's offerings. There seem to be a couple nice YouTube videos on the subject so pretty confident I can fabricate something that looks good and serves the purpose. And, once finished, my air conditioner is blowing colder now, too. That crap covered the lower portion of the radiator area, which seems to be where
Porsche
stuck the A/C condensor.
I resisted getting one for the longest time thinking picking up a few pebbles, leaves and cig butts out of my radiator openings was part of the "
porsche
experience".
Unfortunately the dreaded day came when one of my condensers sprung a leak and I finally gave in and installed them. my advice would be to get an aluminium type material with a finer mesh as it allows for better airflow vs. the plastic type which isn't as thin.
as many have reported, they actually should ship them standard with them installed...
Thus is on my to-do list for the very near future. Going to order mesh from
Amazon
this week.
