Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

1' main seal seam to match what i replaced perfectly.
Leading evidence: 'Replace perfectly' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean of any pentosin' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I have been careful to keep the new boot clean of any Pentosin that i have used for lubrication when fitting the new seals.

One thing that i did differently from the video was to use a nylon o-ring pick rather than a screwdriver to remove existing as i wanted to avoid any possible damage to the metal parts.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Yes, just rebuilt a spare slave cylinder today using this kit.
The video is pretty comprehensive and it was only the fact that i didn't have any super glue (gel) in the house that held me up a little. This is required to glue flat headed bolts onto the two cylinders that reside under the clamp plate as they need pulling out.
All replacement rings and the 'no. 1' main seal seam to match what i replaced perfectly. The main piston has more resistance in the bore than was previously experienced but i guess this should be expeted with brand new seals.
One thing that i did differently from the video was to use a nylon o-ring pick rather than a screwdriver to remove existing as i wanted to avoid any possible damage to the metal parts. The pick worked well and was £4 from Ebay.
Not sure when i will get round to replacing the slave on the car but i got it up on ramps this evening for when i get a few spare hours in the week. It sounds like a tricky job having watched the an online vid' (Heidi & Franny's garage) but hopefully nothing that a little patience won't sort.
DeMort kindly sent me the workshop job sheets so my gratitude for his support. :thumb:
I will let you know how i get on.......
Note.
What looks like a split seal on the bottom photo is in fact a split plastic ring which compresses into the seat as you ease the piston back into the bore. I guess its some kind of scraper ring - there is one smaller one at the top of the same piston too.
It's a rather complicated unit and i can see why they are hellish expensive (c. £500) new.
Edit.
I also ordered a new hydraulic oil reservoir and cap too (£54 incl. discount from OPC) as the orginal cap was not seating correctly.
Thanks for the detailed response I will check out the youtube video you mentioned
I did see a video where the dust cap rubber boot had swollen on the cylinder I haven't taken a look at mine yet I was trying to find a new one but not having much luck :dont know:
The boot on my spare unit (bought from a nice chap on Ebay) was in fine fettle but i am not sure if the unit still on the car has an issue with the boot?
I have been careful to keep the new boot clean of any Pentosin that i have used for lubrication when fitting the new seals.
