Also took off the 2 air scoops, if that's what they call them, in front of the rear wheels and did the same to them, minus the tape , they just click out( I watched you tube to find out) and they look really good, again breaking up the whole white side of the car, and finally, the 'stone guards' that are stuck on below the air scoops, mine were a kind of discoloured yellow colour, ordered new black ones from e bay, got the ole ones off using a hair dryer, just go slowly over them, they peel off, then clean the area properly, I used petrol, then wet the new ones with water, yes, just water, then using a credit card, just press them down into place...

Suggestion

I have a white Cayman 2009 that was looking a bit'white' so first off, using a piece of very thin but strong fishing type wire, very carefully slid it behind the word CAYMAN on the boot, it comes off really easy, carefully rubbed down the ' grey ' look and then sprayed 2 Coates of primer and 2 Coates of black, bought for £3 pounds or so a roll of thin( no wider than the Cayman word) double sided tape, and put a few dots around where the word was originally with a marker pen, and re- stuck the word back in place...

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi, I'm new to this site, but thought you might be interested in a couple of things that have worked out much cheaper than buying new! I already had the paint left from another job, so total cost was less than £10. Been on for months now and hasn't moved, even in all that heat we had! Cost of a new CAYMAN in black (and their only plastic) is very expensive, and I think it looks much more effective on the white car, and probably on most, except black of course! Job done! Hope any of this is of interest
