I've no evidence that the condensers have ever been changed though and, given that it's a pretty simple task, thought I'd start here.
Leading evidence: 'Replace though and, given' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Inspect compressor myself tomorrow' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Will inspect the compressor myself tomorrow and then go from there...
Recommend elsewhere) i thought i'd buy a half-decent diagnostics machine

Now I know the garage I bought from aren't interested (ongoing dispute...can't say more) so instead of firing the parts cannon and replacing compressor (which the tech thought) and the condenser/s (which I've been recommended elsewhere) I thought I'd buy a half-decent diagnostics machine.

A test would be to give it 12 volts and see if the compressor clutch kicks in ..

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
Took my newly-purchased C4S for a regas yesterday and sadly it wasn't working. Here are the results.
I'll probably need this at some point anyway, right?
I know the iCarsoft 2.0 has a series of A/C modules installed but I'm not sure what their 'readings' suggest...can it be used to accurately diagnose which component is faulty?
Ok i'm a little confused here .. the system was empty of gas .. it held a vacuum of 1Mb which depending on just how long it was left ( default on this machine is 4 mins but 10 is best ) then it would appear it has no obvious leaks .
They regassed 800 .. 900 i believe is the correct amount but it's close enough to work .. are you saying that it doesn't work after being regassed ?
Compressor faults are rare .. condensers leaking are common .
Yeah so was the tech...he said that it didn't seem to be leaking and thought it was likely to be the compressor. Although even he admitted to not knowing much about 911s.
I've no evidence that the condensers have ever been changed though and, given that it's a pretty simple task, thought I'd start here. However I don't fancy doing bits at a time and then spaffing £50 to find out it still doesn't work...so I wondered if there was a more technical way of diagnosis?
It has had a regas so it should work .. as it isn't then it seems there are 2 issues .
As GMG has said .. have a visual look at the compressor .. the end plate must be spinning .. if not then its not working .
A test would be to give it 12 volts and see if the compressor clutch kicks in .. ignition on engine not running and you will hear a click , wire is o/s/r on the fuel rail if you want to do this .
From here you will need a tester .. fault codes .. i doubt there will be any , but you need to look at interior and exterior temp sensor readings .. if the car thinks its less than 6 degrees it wont activate the A/C so this is im afraid the next step .
You can also have a pressure sensor fault .. if it doesn't see a pressure of 2 bar + it wont work .. it should be 5 bar , again seen on a tester .
