Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Replace above, they stopped' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check its torque' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Rosselder83 is probably right, but I would first clean the underside with gunk to remove all the oil.

I've been trying to find instructions on changing this, so far I've found out you need to lock the cams to change these as they have to be removed fully to fit a new o-ring.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

For years now (5+), I have a small oil leak on my MY02 996TT Tip. Oddly enough, It has actually improved after I replaced the engine mounts (were and are Porsche originals) and the transmission support, also with a Porsche original.
I say the leak improved because I used to find drops oil on my garage floor and they were getting larger. After I replaced the above, they stopped...
Anyway, I'd like to take care of this, thus I'm posting a photo, hoping to get some clues of what should I be looking for, what is the most likely culprit considering where the oil shows up and what should I do to positively identify the source.
It clearly comes from the left side of the car, somewhere above on the rear side of the engine. What is there that can cause this?
From that picture there it looks like you're experincing a leak from the same I am currently. Lower timing chain tensioner, in that pic it looks like you can see oil sitting on the outside.

If you manage to find out more I'd be keen to hear
Mmmm, after looking at the engine a bit more caarefully, I think you're right. I was thinking it was coming from higher above but it looks like that bolt is the culprit. Looking at the parts catalog, I can identify it but can't see any o-ring. Does it come with the bolt?
Looking at it, it looks like it is a crush washer rather than an o-ring though, unless there's one in a flange recess.
Have you tried to check its torque? The manual says 25Nm. I won't until I learn more, camshafts are not the sort of thing I like to touch without exactly what I'm doing and its consequences.
Hi
Rosselder83 is probably right, but I would first clean the underside with gunk to remove all the oil. Then give it a few weeks to see where the oil comes from. As it is its hard to tell if there are multiple leaks, or just that one, and your approach may be different if you knew you had other leaks...
