Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have been lurking for awhile and just joined. I have 40th911 with 22k miles. Purchased new on 9-11-04 for 20k off sticker. I will post pictures as soon as I wash my car (it has been raining for the past week-so it seems), and figure out how to upload from a digital camera. In the alt, my sister has digital pics, and maybe she will send me some.
I am in SAT. Great driving city, because of the hill country. Plus, traffic is not bad.
My wife also had Cayenne S. This story is kind of funny. She was out of town with the kids visting her parents. My friend lives in a neighborhood by the Porsche dealership and we went by on a Saturday afternoon. They let me take a C2 lightly loaded with a sticker about 80k. Wife gets back on Sunday, and makes me return it on Monday. Deal was not done yet because I was financing through my bank. She came to the dealership with me, and I switched to a Cayenne S and took her mercedes. This was in June of 04.
In september, the salesman sent me an email and told me that he could take 20k off of the sticker. I had looked at the 40th before, but it was too expensive at just under a 100k. I went in, they worked out a finance deal, and I bought the car.
Then I bought a used Land Rover for a DD (big mistake). Sold that recently and now the 911 is my DD.
I am finally enjoying the car. The first 2 years for some reason I felt guilty driving it and did not like the extra attention. I am over it now.
It has been my dream since the early 70's to have one.
For my first car I wanted a 944, but it was not in the cards. I have also driven friends 911s, 928's, and 944's.
Never driven a turbo but have been in one twice. I can not imagine a car any faster. It took me 3 months before I was comfortable punching it. It would feel like the back end was about to come out. I can drive it now.
Thanks
Welcome aboard! But you better post pics quickly or Tim will get you!
By the way, I'm from San Antonio as well. Spent the better part of 25 years of my 35 years on earth there. Beautiful city but just way too slow for me. Anyway, GO SPURS GO!!!!!
Grew up in Dallas, went to the majority of college in SAT, then moved to laredo. So SAT is paradise compared to Laredo. Also, owning a PCAR in Laredo would be difficult. SAT is very cheap compared to Dallas. I would have to win the lottery to afford to live in Dallas. SAT you can have a very nice home from $100 and up per square foot. My house in Dallas would be about $350 a square foot. Plus, you can not beat driving around SAT. The Hill Country roads are great, especially in the early am on the weekend.
I can take a picture of my car now, but it is really dirty, and I do not plan on washing it until it stops raining, which will be at the end of the week.
Is it a sin on this site to have a dirty car?
You ain't kidding about Laredo. By the way, I am from Laredo so I know what you mean intimately. My Mom is from there as well but grew tired of it quickly and we moved to SA. Besdies I really never felt like I fit in being a white boy in a border town.
I do miss those hill country roads
My Dad is from Nuevo Laredo but my parents divorced and I grew up in Dallas. I loved visiting him because the of the girls, and no drinking age when I was young. After school I got a job offer there and took it thinking that it would be a good short cut. It was, but kids started approaching middle school age, and there is not a lot of choices for HS. Basically they would have to be going to school in SAT or boarding school. So I just moved since most of my business was out of town. SAT has a superior airport and I was travelling a lot.
Also, fool hardy to have a PCar there. Bad roads, a lot of trucks, no one to fix it, bad gas, a lot of rock chips on the highways and service in CC or SAT. Only positive would be to drive it to Monterrey on the toll road. No police, and a straight road for about 100 miles right through the mountains. I would not like to drive it around Nuevo Laredo or Monterrey too much, but I would love to drive it on the toll road. I topped out my Merc E320 in the 130's. Closest thing to the autobahn you will find in NA. Police do not patrol and are only found at the end right before Monterrey. Plus, they have no radio and would not be able to catch you. One day I will take my PCar. Just need to watch out with where you fill it up. Monterrey in the nice part has super unleaded and even a dealership, but on the hwy it is touch and go.
Welcome to the crew! Maybe you can paint us a descriptive picture so we can imagine what it lookes like. color? wheels? additional accessories? I promise to imagine it clean!
GT Silver, 18 polished wheels, natural grey full leather, and aero without the rear spoiler. I have the sports seats (this option will inspire you to keep your weight off), so the back is also leather and not gt silver. Only mods are XM radio (installed where the cd holder is), radar detector hard wired to back of rear view mirror, and 3m bra.
Right now it is combination of GT Silver, and shades of brown and red dirt. Rims are turning black with road grime.
Options are PCM, sports seats, and 6cd. It also has bose, but I do not know if that was part of the 40th package or an option. Stickered at 96.5.
My favorite part is the natural grey interior. It is basically a dark charcoal grey. The last post on the c4s v 40th thread is pretty much my car except for the XM. I could canabalize his photos.
Sister is sick at home, but she still has the pictures. So I will attach them when she gets back to work.
Wife has a girls night out tonight, so I can not take pictures because she hides the camera from me. I have a bad habbit of breaking cameras.
