Greetings from Chicago,
Need advice on nice rubber mats worthy of the Cayman. Are McNeil's the only game in town? Will be picking up my white ride in 10 days. Just joined the Club today but been surfing for the last 2 months. You guys are great!
Welcome to the site. The Exchange in Highland Park is a sponsor, why not call them and ask? Let them know you saw them here!
Chicay, welcome fellow IL member! Remember to post pics and details of your Cayman. Also don't forget to register.
We're also planning a Zone 13 meet so please chime in on that thread.
I think Weathertechs are the best. Visit them at
www.weathertech.com
They come in black, grey and beige i believe. Nice and thick but still pliable and holds a ton of water and sleet/snow. They are specific for Porsche's with Bose and without.
My bad..just went onto the website and didn't realize MacNeil's made Weathertechs.
Well, you learn something new every day.
Welcome to the site. I ordered the Weather Tech mats online and they were delivered quickly and fit perfectly.
I bought the factory rubber mats for the wife's Cayenne and and have to air it out in the spring to get the nasty rubber smell out. Be prepared for that.
I prevent using mats in the 987 by garaging it until the salt is washed away.
I'll second jimmyv. I put a set of WeatherTech mats in the non-Porsche car and they look great. Very happy with the construction and custom fit.
Ordered a set for my soon to be delivered CS. Be aware that CS mats are labeled "Porsche 911" when they arrive. I called WeatherTech to check that the right product was delivered and they confirmed their non-Bose rubber mat is designed to fit for both cars.
I agree with everyone else, Weathertech. Be sure you tell them if you have Bose radio, their cut a little different.
I ordered the weathertechs and think they will do just fine. I had a set from them in my G35 and they were OK. I think they were more designed for the G35 as an automatic than as a manual. If you look at the pictures on their website the look like they are a better fit for the Cayman than the G35.
And Weathertech is based in Downers Grove, so you are supporting a local business. Always good karma
If you have Bose you can take my weathertechs. I got them and only drove my car a handful of times (300 miles) this winter. I have 300 mile old 19 inch Blizzaks for you too
The mats fit and look great but I'm going to store my car next winter probably. Look and feel of them is perfect, they do a really nice job.
I have purchased many different types of mats from MatDepot.com and found them to be very good. Take a look at this website. Frank
I’m a fan of the Weathertech floorliners. They have a bigger lip around the edge and do a better job of keeping rain/snow off the carpet.
