Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, I'm thinking of buying the front brake replacement kit from Design911 (BRAKEKIT996) for £199. Seems like a great deal seeing as it comes with: 2 front discs OEM pads Sensors dampering shims Has anyone else used this kit before? Seems almost too good to be true. I'm guessing the pads are Textar as they are their standard OEM pads but it doesn't say who makes the discs. Wondering if it makes more sense to buy the parts separately rather than buy a kit?? Any advice appreciated!

POST 2Original post

If its still the same as the kit I bought a few years ago then its textar pads & brembo discs. Highly recommended by most people on here as identical to official stuff, but half the price.

POST 3Original post

I got both kits from D911 (front and rear). I called them up to also order the calliper bolts (4 required, around £1.15 OPC price/D911) and free delivery. I got 5% off (January offer) but they usually have 5% deals around (mention 911uk- Might work). They worked out the cheapest at the time and haven't had a problem with it since it being fitted. The pads were Textar, discs was Serbo (If I recall correctly).

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
