Performance Upgrades Settled

After much deliberation and disapointment with some vendors (Milltek/AWE) I have finally managed to settle (and order) the upgrades to my UK cayman S: 1. De-snork (done) 2. EVOM air intake (2nd Feb) 3. Fabspeed headers (cats removed) 2nd Feb 4. Tubi cat back system - 2nd Feb 5. Revo technik stage 2 re-map - 10th Feb Im hoping to get the dyno's done also and will keep you all posted on the results.

Mind sharing some of the "disappointments" you had?

Since you are criticizing a couple of our sponsors do you mind sharing with me publicly or privately what issues you had? BTW, had I known about them BEFORE you made your decision I could have stepped in to help you out.

That should be a great setup. I guess I don't mind you criticizing sponsors but would be interested to know why you chose the options you did. Thanks for sharing! :cheers:

I'm sure you will be pleased with the ECU upgrade, particularly in conjunction with the hardware modifications you've chosen. I'm assuming you'll be going to Paragon for the flash? George, Many thanks for your support. Mega4 in Surrey are lined up for the flash. To cut a long story short, as you may know Im based in the UK and some products need to be sourced from the US. Its important to emphasize that my dealings with the US companies (e.g. AWE) have always been first class. Sadly some of the UK distributors/workshops leave a lot to be desired. Initially I wanted a Milltek system but delivery dates were extremely long. My next choice was AWE cat back but the huge pricing difference here in the UK (double that in the US even though the exchange rate should make it cheaper..) and ever moving date for delivery (plus some very inexperienced advice at Regal AutoS) blew it clean out of the water. Unfortunately customer service in the UK is no match for the US although so far Scuderia Systems in Surrey have been excellent. Lets hope it all works out!! I will keep you posted.

Thanks for the info, sounds as if the problem was more with your local shop. Could AWE not just send you an exhaust directly or do they have to go through a distributor in the UK? I know Milltek ran out (very popular) and had to make more, hence their delay.

AWE has had a pretty nice delay here as well since they sold out too.

Pleass give me details of the Revo technik stage 2 re-map Where, how much, power, graphs?

ttomason: First, my apologies for the delays in production dates you were given. Demand for our Cayman system really jumped through the roof over the last few months, requiring some production line juggling and raw material supplier prodding on our end. Could you share with me the issues you had with our UK distributor? Perhaps we need to provide them with better information on this system. Please e-mail me or send me a PM. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to improve our representation in any way. For those that have been patiently waiting for your mufflers, I have allocated 3 welders full time to completing systems: Systems should go to polishing stage by Monday of next week, and units should start shipping soon after. Thanks for your patience. I know how frustrating it can be waiting for that new part you just ordered for your car!

Todd. Thanks very much for the update. Regal Autosport in Portsmouth initially quoted the wrong price and delivery date. Matters were further complicated when they insisted that I needed to replace the cats which is not the case. So ended up with a huge cost estimate for the exhaust system in the order of $7000 (usd) or >3,500+GBP. Im no expert on these matters myself but realized something was wrong. The cost + poor advice + changing delivery dates ended the discussions. If I could have gone to another dealer for the AWE I would have - the bad news is that they are the ONLY dealer for AWE in the UK. Their price for the CAT back is extraordinarily expensive at around $3000 fitted. This makes Milltek/Tubi and other alternatives much more competitive to the point that regardless of how great the AWE maybe its just not viable. I hope this helps.

Your best checking out the Revo Technic website for details - too much info to repeat here. I will let you know how it fairs after I get it installed in 2 weeks time.
