Suspected cause

In regards to the rattle it is resonating from internally therefore I think is due to the internals and not adjustments.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Thought it would be interesting and helpful to others to list and show pictures of your modded car. Also shed some insight of your overall opinion on the mods you chose. The mods completed on my car are as follows: Milltek exhaust Milltek headers De-snorked EVO intake H & R springs Boothe rear spacers Boothe lug nuts Wilhelmy mod Clear side markers Hoen xenon match fog lights Hoen silver coated side marker lights Aftermarket short shifter 20% Tints Bumperplugs silver hood crest Bumperplugs keyhole cover ecu program is next on the list..... View attachment 794 View attachment 795 View attachment 796 Overall I am very happy with all the mods I have done so far. The performance of my car has vastly improved and satisfies my need for speed. The car rides and handles fine with just springs. The only negative I have is with Milltek's workmanship as their quality control is less than desirable. The tips don't line up, there seems to be a rattle coming from the exhaust, and I found drops from the welding inside the headers plus they do not sit even underneath the car. But more importantly it does deliver in performance and sound. Anyway I have no regrets about playing with my car and would do these mods again in a heartbeat.

POST 2Original post

I'd suggest that both those are bad install issues vs workmanship problems. There are a number of adjustments that can be made during install to get the tips to line up straight and any rattles are most likely due to loose clamps or hangers...both which will affect the way it hangs as well. dw

POST 3Original post

Unfortunately its the way the tips are welded and cut. You can see they welded them uneven. One is welded strait and the other is on a slight angle. Plus the angle of cut on the ends are different. The difference is not tremendous but is noticeable. In regards to the rattle it is resonating from internally therefore I think is due to the internals and not adjustments. I am still trying to figure out if it is defective or just the sound of this setup.

POST 4Original post

I have the same exhaust. Did the install myself. and have installed others. I have not seen any uneven tips like you describe or heard any internal rattles. Nor has anybody else here reported this. Milltek has always had top notch quality control in my expereince. I'd say you have a defective unit that slipped by....if its not an install error. Put it on a lift with somebody in it running it through the rpms to isolate the source. dw

POST 5Original post

What is the ride like on the new springs? Does it feel much stiffer than stock?

make sure you talk to Neil @ Orton before chipping....unless thats the route you are planning already...note...he is a sponsor.

AM1, your CS looks amazing! One of the best on the board for sure:cheers: ...its funny how much better the Cayman looks after 2 simple and cheap changes - Tint and Clear sides.

POST 10Original post

The ride on the springs is fine in my opinion. Just a little stiffer than stock. Here in Florida there are not any potholes so being low is not an issue. I am planning on talking to Neil before I proceed on chipping. And thanks for the compliments.
