Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hi, just wondering what does the connector in the pic below plug into?, I can't seem to see, too many beers and a few days since I started! (picture taken from rear, where airbox normally sits, looking down towards right rear light) left is MAF connector Right ????

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Richard, No not for the 02 thats already plugged in, I'm thinking maybe it's spare for the spoiler, it's got a fixed wing so maybe not needed cheers brumbrum

POST 4Original post

I was thinking Lambda but then the plugs look slightly different, I'd say they both relate to the spoiler and would normally connect up behind the OSR light. I know the Lambda wires are 2 White, 1 Black & 1 Grey if that helps.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Lloyd, Thanks for the info, makes sense, I'll clip it out the way. cheers brumbrum

POST 6Original post

But wouldn't you need it to be plugged in for the engine compartment fan?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Richard, The engine compartment fan and light appear to be on different wiring, already routed in place, I've had a good look at cant see where it would plug in to be honest so I'm working with it being spare. I'll check everything when the car is back together mid week! cheers

POST 8Original post

If you have a fixed spoiler it is possibly the wiring for the third brake light you no longer have on the deck lid . It would have been replaced with the Porsche blank plate. see photo TB

POST 9Original post

How many pins on the connector? If it is 8, and you have park assist, it might be for the sensors and number plate lights. Electric lid release, perhaps? :dont know: If you ever find out, for God's sake let us know! :x

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Evening chaps, the mystery continues! no park assist on car no blanking plate - car has led brake light connector has 3 wires going into it, it looks porsche oem, although it's stamped bmw with a number.. :nooo: EDIT: boot release is cable pic below:

POST 11Original post

Is that a 6-pin connector? Is the wire to pin 1 orange and red? Is the wire to pin 2 brown? Is the wire to pin 6 violet and green? If so, I think I know what it is........

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Richard, Your description is right on the money!, I'm intrigued!.... Cheers brumbrum
