Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can anyone help with this: I think i have a rain sensor fitted. There is a sensor in the screen by the rear view mirror and i know its an optional fit. The problem is the wiper is very sparodic and not always working when i want it to wipe! I tried to adjust the intermittent switch/dial which does affect things, but when i press the sensor lightly it starts the wipe process....but then it stops again. This sounds like a potentially dodgy sensor - any ideas? Anyone else got one fitted? All other wipers settings work fine I would put a picture of the ole gal up, but i am inept with computers. Its a C4 with factory fitted aero kit in grey with black interior. Only had 3 months but loving it! :floor:

POST 2Original post

was a rain sensor a 996 option ?? :?: thought it was 997 only, although I may be wrong

POST 3Original post

Yes, it was an option on the 996. It was standard on the facelift 996T too. Can't help with the problem though....

POST 4Original post

Have the same on mine. It kinda just does what it wants  . I think i can live with it for now....

POST 5Original post

There's a sensor on my car too. It also works in a flaky kind of way, might just be the way they are!

POST 6Original post

POST 7Original post

Yep, I've got rain sensing wipers and they've a mind of their own!

POST 8Original post

Had rainsensor retrofitted to mine. Works a treat, in fact much better than my Lexus was...
