Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The highly skilled operative on the end of the phone may not know an X50 from Fireball XL5 but that doesn't mean that the engineer who comes to inspect when you ditch it will be the same.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

% limits so shouldn't really affect the premium... Def make sure it is written in your policy though as it's a potential get out for them against any claim...
I wouldn't set too much store by the notional 10%, it is more whatever they can get.
Aviva increased my TT by £30 for a mid term Revo which I had warned them I was going to do before taking out the policy initially - they then increased my premium by 300% at renewal and refused to budge by a penny unless their own online service undercut it which they knew it wouldn't as it couldn't quote.
The X50 is part of the basic detail of the vehicle so you have no choice but to declare it. The highly skilled operative on the end of the phone may not know an X50 from Fireball XL5 but that doesn't mean that the engineer who comes to inspect when you ditch it will be the same.
I would declare X50 but would be suprised if the wanted to up the premuim as it is less than 10% (unless there are additional modifications), so would go back and argue the point
so i have been onto Admiral, who are still questioning this ''performance upgrade''.
After explaing the situation they classified it as a performance upgrade chip!!!
I then told them to do find out more cause they didn't know nothin about it, they came back to tell me ---they spoke to their manager and they said they can't insure this kind of vehicle!!!
Should i just leave it and declare it as what they have -- ''911 turbo''?
no - use a decent insurer who knows about what they are insuring.
I went through all of this with the lotus i owned with mods etc
i found they worked out cheaper than mainstream insurers too
Might be worth trying some of the brokers (like A Plan) who deal with performance cars on a regular basis and are more likely to know what you're talking about :dont know:
so i am still searching for
insurance
.
Can someone tell me, is there a visual difference between an x50 and a normal turbo. i.e: can you tell by looking under the bonnett?
uuf361 is right, you need to go to specialist insurers who will understand the X50 upgrade and should not attach an additional premuim - and I wouldn't be surprised if they not cheaper.
The code in the handbook will indentify that the car is fitted with the X50.
If for some reason they all want to add a premuim I think it would be very unwise not to declare the modification. The reason you are taking out insurance is because you recognise there is a risk of having an accident and want the protection. By not declaring the modification you are then putting the insurance policy at risk because if they spot you have been less than honest they could refuse to pay out on a claim leaving you with a very big bill. And if that happens then it's likely they will refuse to insure you again so when you next take out insurance you could wake up to find you have been blacklisted because all insurance companies share data
Someone who knows would know where to look, and that's the point. If you bend the car can you risk that that person doesn't check your car out? Did you see BBC1 last night,? car insurance fraud is the largest growing type right now. Insurers are employing specialists to check large or 'dodgy' claims. If they were to find something then not only will they not pay out but you'll probably be put down on a black list for insurers.
Call a broker, I used performancemarque. Failing that call Elephant or Admiral again, explain that unless you speak to a line manager and not a muppet you won't be taking a policy with them and hence them losing a chunk of money. See how that goes. Good luck :thumb:
I insured my X50 via Admiral just about a month ago. They asked if the car was standard to which I replied it had a number of Porsche options fitted such as X50 etc. I asked if they wanted the full list of options but they weren't interested. Based on this I'd expect that in the event of theft or write-off to get the proper value of the car.
