Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Since I got the CS in 2006, it always had a tendency to pull slightly to the left...alingnment checked twice.

But first check air pressures, make sure you are driving on a level road (not severely crowned), tires are in good shape and you have no aftermarket parts.
Leading evidence: 'Check twice' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check air pressures, make sure you are driving' (1 discussions). These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Well you don't say if the car is used or new, is un-modified, has non-factory parts or was purchased from a dealer or used car lot or private seller so it is difficult to help you.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey guys,
I just bought my
cayman
today.
When I test drove it, I did not notice it, because I was not driving it at high speeds.
When I was driving it home, however, I noticed the car starts pulling to the left, when you release the steering wheel in straight position.
Has someone else experienced that or do you have any idea what the cause might be.
Ans yes, I also got the chirps and squeaks, although the car is almost brand new.
Thanks.
Well you don't say if the car is used or new, is un-modified, has non-factory parts or was purchased from a dealer or used car lot or private seller so it is difficult to help you. But first check air pressures, make sure you are driving on a level road (not severely crowned), tires are in good shape and you have no aftermarket parts. If all that checks out take it to a
Porsche
dealer for alignment. It is hard to tell from here.
Usually, pulling to one side indicates an alignment problem; specifically a toe setting out of spec. Have them check the complete alignment. Even new cars are sometimes delivered out of specs somewhere.
Like Santa Fe said, check your tire pressures. A low tire will cause the car to pull to that side. The problem
may
be your alignment, but checking your tires may also solve the problem, and it's a good habit to get into anyways.
I noticed precisely the same thing when I took delivery of mine (and mine was right out of the box). I just brought it back in to my dealer and they did an alignment for free, no problem.
didn't get that one with the radio
anyways, tire pressure is fine, guess it's the alignment. Today I noticed two more things. I'm a newbie so don't laugh
When the car is idling on neutral, it tends to tremble, like the engine is not able to keep stable revs. I noticed the rev dial having big variations around 600-800 rpm the first day. Today I can't notice it on the dial, however the car is still trembling a little bit at idle. Has someone experienced this? Is it normal for a cold/new engine (about 1100 miles)?
Also, I have a strange info message with a "!". When i go to info i see "1. Pa. b. stuck"
When I "click" it, I see the same symbol as the airbag failure one. However, the text says "Check passenger's seat setting". Does it have something to do with the passenger's airbag on/off?
Sorry for the noob questions.
Thanks a lot to everyone who replied.
Might want to read up on the FAQ's. I think this might help.
The Cayman Club - FAQ: Indiosyncrasies
The manual is also a good source of information too...
paco: I think the passenger seat back may be raked too far back. Reset the top of the seat back more foward, or slide the seat bottom foward one notch.

A good car will get you from point A to point B. A great car... will just get you into trouble!
thanks to everyone for the great replys.
I was able to get everything, except for the slight trembling, which actually persists. I think I will need ot take it to the dealer.
And those chirps/creaks are so annoying. Although I read a lot of people complaining I did not think it would be as constant as it is. Guess I'll have to live with it.
If your car came straight from the dealer I wonder if they put good 93 octane in it. Old gas, bad gas or mid or lower octane ratings will give you a rough idle.
BTW. I thought my car pulled left as well. Took it back to the dealer and they said it was fine. I told them in order for the car to go straight I had to turn the wheel slightly to the right. They claim everything checks out and I'm just imaginning things. Conspiracy, I think.
You put your left foot in, you take your left foot out, you put your left foot in and you shake it all about then you do the Hokie Pokie and you turn yourself around...............
I think the slight trembling is pretty normal. My '06 CS with 7060 miles does the same thing at idle on startup for a few mins. It eventually flattens out a bit, but i think it is fine. It trembles between 600-800 rpms. Taking it to the dealer is not a bad idea though. Ask to startup another
Cayman
and see what it does. Just let me know what the dealer says about the tremble if you do. Thanks and good luck with your new ride!!
Since I got the CS in 2006, it always had a tendency to pull slightly to the left...alingnment checked twice. ..all tires and pressure good....
Am just used to it now.
ok guys, i took the car for service. alignment is ok, the rpm thing was normal according to the service guy, and they cured the creaking/chirping sound: it was pretty easy and trivial - they lubricated the rubber where the door meets the chassis at where the windows starts. It almost completely went away and I guess it will go away as the problem area gets completely lubricated.
thanks everyone.
