Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I changed from Contis to Pirelli P zero N4s recently and the difference is surprising, especially at the front.

I have changed from Pirelli to Continental and I'm very happy with it !

Transformed the car in the wet and dry, they replaced my Pirelli's which still had plenty of tread left but were useless/dangerous in the wet.

However PS2s are quite expensive hence I use the Contis

Suggestion
Pirellis do seem to be getting much better reports than those of 2/3 years ago - I wonder if they have changed the compound?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi guys,
Done a quick search for tyre topics on the forum but none seem to offer the comparison i'm looking for.
Need to change the rear boots. Currently have Pirelli Pzero Assimetrico N3's. Fancy a change, leaning towards Conti's. Any words on the difference between the two?
All advice opinions welcome...
Cheers

Everyone rates the PS2s highly. I've always liked the Conti SportContacts2 for the wet weather performance. PS2s probably have better dry performance. However PS2s are quite expensive hence I use the Contis
Taran -
for what it's worth I have 2 sets of wheels for my 4S, one set fitted with Pirelli Assim N3's and the other set Conti Sport Contact 2's.
Personally, I prefer the Conti's over the Assims. One of the main differences I find are the Conti's generate much less road noise than the Assims. This factor may not bother some people, but I found it very annoying at normal road speeds.
As for handling, for what they both cost there is little to choose. :dont know:
Just my 10p's worth!
Just for the record, I don't hate PS2's and they continue to be my weapon of choice.
I understand there is not a lot to choose between the Pirelli's and Conti's in terms of performance and I think the conti's wear a little better.
Cheers for the quick responses guys.
Stuart, no prejudice against the PS2's...but as i'm redundant at the moment i'm having to be a bit careful with the spondoolies and the PS2's are about £40 per tyre more expensive and so might have to try these the next time..hopefully have a job by then! (Loving your sig pic btw..v.nice!)
Nick B/Res B that's a great help. I to find the Pirelli quite noisy, would be nice if the Conti's ease this a tad. I was hoping the Conti's would wear a bit better also!
Right then, I managed to source both of them at £182.50 per tyre fully fitted/balanced blah blah. Seemed pretty reasonable to me?

I have changed from Pirelli to Continental and I'm very happy with it ! The noise difference is significant and handling seems much better ! No word yet over wet performance since Winter is still far away
I expect the Continental to wear less than the Pirelli.
The price difference is mininum so I think you should give it a try !
Wet weather performance for the Contis is very good but they are appalling in the snow. Then again most non-winter wide footprint, low profile tyres are bad in snow.
I just fitted 4 new contis sport contact 3's and they are superb. Transformed the car in the wet and dry, they replaced my Pirelli's which still had plenty of tread left but were useless/dangerous in the wet.
I think they came top in ADAC 2009 tyre test.
I changed from Contis to Pirelli P zero N4s recently and the difference is surprising, especially at the front. The feel and turn in is much better.
Also the people who fitted them informed me contis wear much quicker on the shoulders as the sidewalls are much weaker. Can't comment on that as yet but I definitely prefer the Pirellis. They are wearing much better too.

Also the Corsa System tyres are getting great reviews.
