Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Replace plugs recenlty' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace plugs recenlty' (1 discussions). Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have not used my stereo in a couple of days and I noticed a "belt squeal" at idle. At first I'm thinking that possibly the belt tensioner is going south but once I got home today, I quickly found out it is not. The sound is coming from the front of the engine near the axles or the bellhousing (from what I can tell). My car is a tiptronic and I am worried its either the front pump of the tranny, bushing(s) for the input shaft, or something else internal of the tranny. Not to rule out the engine but I dont know what would make a "belt squealing" sound coming from the engine unless its intermediate shaft related or valvetrain.
Has anyone heard of this? I am hoping a Porsche mechanic has come across this or anyone else because I am stumped.
Karma has got me when I posted 85,000 miles and no problems.
Please someone tell me its just low on tranny fluid!
Guess thats what I get for posting in the Sean thread. Thanks in advance, Cory
1. have you changed plugs recenlty? loose plugs will casue a squeeling at idle
2. remove the oil fill cap, does the noise quit
3. is there fluid leaking from the bellhousing, if it is it deffanly could be a pump, the milage is about right
Started to pull the oil filler cap and it had a huge vacuum behind it. I didnt even get the cap off and the engine started running rough. Do I need to pull it all the way off? By the way, it made the squealing sound when I drove it around but it wasnt making the sound when I tried to pull the cap, I am just making sure something else isnt the problem with the "vacuum" coming out of the filler.
