Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The dash cluster has stopped working on my 2000 996c2 manual, digital displays, speedo and rev counter arnt working but rest are? Ive tried some other clocks from a breaker i know and they work so it must be the clocks. Has anyone had this problem and is there a cure (eg someone who repairs them) or is it terminal? Also how do i get the mileage corrected if fit different clocks? Any advice appreciated. Cheers Adam

POST 2Original post

I'd call an Indy near you, sounds like it's just plain knackered. I don't think you can just change clusters without a Porsche tech having to reconfigure things anyway. Good luck with this... :thumb:

POST 3Original post

Mileage can be altered to suit, call these people based in NW London by Heathrow, ask for Raj say you know me and I sent you. http://www.fixmymileage.com/ :thumb:

POST 4Original post

Check fuses B1 and B10. If you have fit a brand new cluster (about £1200), as Stuart says, it has to be coded for the car, and the mileage has to be 'wound on' within 100km of fitting it. Coding has to be done with a Porsche tester, but all good indies have them. If you fit a second-hand cluster, make sure it is exactly the same type, and you can get the milage corrected. Google "mileage correction" (which will frighten the life out of you - there are so many around).

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
