Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

In the garage I use the Bentley manual, but then reference the pdf manual as needed and print pages of that when I need to take it to the garage.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 986Forum: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Bought a 1999 boxster. Which service manual do you guys recommend? Thanks Bob

POST 2Original post

depending how extensively you want to be able to dig into your Boxster, the Bentley manual should be more than enough. I consider myself more than an average shade tree mechanic and have found the Bentley to be plenty sufficient. At $70 vs the much higher price for others - I'd start there and supplement as needed w/ the archives here, renntech and ppbb.

POST 3Original post

The bentley has walked me through a few projects with ease

POST 4Original post

I also have the Bentley Publications Service manual. I think it is very good.

POST 5Original post

for d/l as a series of PDFs. Free! May take a few tries on each file as the server is not the most reliable. But certainly worth finding the best hour and doing it as you have time and inclination. I probably consult it once a day to answer some question. See my web site index under Manuals for the link.

POST 6Original post

Yup, you can't beat the pdf manual as it pretty much has everything and the price is right. You can also download the parts list off Porsche's website for free. I find this to be very helpful too. In the garage I use the Bentley manual, but then reference the pdf manual as needed and print pages of that when I need to take it to the garage.

POST 7Original post

I realize this is an ancient thread, but where might one purchase the Bentley manual ? best place? best price? sg

POST 8Original post

Amazon.com has it for $64, which appears to be the best price around.

POST 10Original post

Yes. I bought mine on Amazon too from Bentley Publishing. I can't remember how much I paid but $50 to $60 sound right.

POST 11Original post

Bentley. You'll love it. Don't waste your money of the disc that someone on these forums is selling. It's a disorganized mess and tough to use.

POST 12Original post

The www.cannell.co.uk site seems to have just disappeared recently - anyone know anything about that?

POST 13Original post

All i can tell you is that google last indexed it on the 18th Jan, checkout Google cache of the manuals page: http://209.85.229.132/search?q=cache:rgn5Yc7YBvEJ:www.cannell.co.uk/Manuals.htm+http://www.cannell.co.uk/Manuals.htm&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk Unfortunately Google doesn't cache pdf files OOOH some of them work. I just got the first one downloaded. Maybe they all do. Tripple edit: seems the site is back up Anim

POST 14Original post

+++1 on the Bentley. Best $ I ever spent on my car.

POST 15Original post

Yes, I just need to learn to be a bit more patient...

POST 16Original post

Im glad you lot rate it as I just ordered myself a copy. £50 ain't cheap but hopefully it will pay for itself. Anim
