Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Gauge was pretty accurate when compared with measuring fuel used against mileage (did that over 3 tankfuls when I first got it).
Leading evidence: 'Use against mileage (did' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run mobile roadblock has paused' (1 discussions). Might see a small improvement now that the School run mobile roadblock has paused for the summer.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

How accurate do people find the fuel readers in the dash. Mine seems a little optimistic at times. When i calculate from filling up i average about 28-29mpg.
The dash reads about 32mpg, but did one 30 mile trip that returned 37mpg, albeit driving at max 60mph and really gentle with throttle. Only managed once for obvious reasons
I use it daily approx 75 miles round trip. Split about 1/3rds between twisties, 50mph limit A road and dual carriageway
Interested to see what other people are getting
22-24 daily on my 40 mile round trip which is all windy roads but most too bumpy to really have fun and let rip.
On the let rip days.....yeah that drops a bit :dont know: OK a lot, but who cares :thumb:
Yeah should have said its a 1999 C4.
As i drive 70 odd miles a day, there has to be a new challenge every week, so trying to see best mpg is one of them!
It is boring apart from the fact that ............. yes i'm in a Porsche 911...... its great when i walk out of work and see it sat there. Makes the journey sooo much better. :thumb:
round town i get about 24mpg....Norwich to Taunton not really tempering ones enthusiasm - 32mpg. These are according to the pcm 1 "BC" page.
Its certainly cheaper to run that the previous car - focus st - in town that did 18 or less and never went over 28 on a run!
will check out how accurate the computer is and report back.....
When I had my 99 C4 I averaged around 22-23 mpg overall: Real mixture of long motorway runs (inc. Monaco and back) and short trips from village to town (4 miles) and everything in between. Best I got on a long run was just under 30 mpg over 400 miles.
Gauge was pretty accurate when compared with measuring fuel used against mileage (did that over 3 tankfuls when I first got it).
Mind you, once the engine was warm, it was always full throttle acceleration
Fuel ecomomy - MPG per gauge
I seem to average 24-25mpg in mixed driving conditions, but mainly short hops...where frankly I enjoy driving the car 'cos I don't drive it every day.
I posted up a thread about my MPG challenge a while back, it was quite fun trying to get close to 30avmpg on mixed driving.
My current average is 25.2mpg and this is mostly a fair mix of heavy school traffic and country (60mph) lanes on my daily commute.
SNAP!
25.2 mpg over the last 2,800 miles or so.
Might see a small improvement now that the School run mobile roadblock has paused for the summer. :thumb:
What are people getting average with 996TT. Currently my M3 convertible gives me about 21mpg. Pick my Porsche up in a couple of weeks. Hoping for similar figures really.
Long Distance: max 33mpg (on good A roads at 50-60 rather than motorway at 70-)
Town Driving: 22-24 mpg
Standing start from motorway roundabout lights to on-ramp: 6-7 mpg
