Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Looks like the next generation of detector for sure - looking forward to seeing it tested some more.
Leading evidence: 'Test some more' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run red light' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
I just went to court for a ticket for running a red light that I didn't run.

Suggestion
I've got no problem paying my fines for exceeding the limit, but I don't think it's right that two of us pull over, and the guy that was in front, setting the flow of traffic gets no ticket.

You'll just use the local GPS logging for your own key locations, such as local speed traps etc

I'm not endorsing it, just following up to an earlier post about the use of GPS in the just announced Escort 9500.

Interesting anti detector sentiment - doesn't help my already jaded view of speed cops - especially as they use the very presence of a detector as an excuse to 'lie' about the recorded speed in a traffic stop.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Thanks! Some of the features like "Expert Meter" and tracking 8 different signals are on the original Escort/Passport 8500. I am looking to upgrade, it should be fun locking in all of the speed traps we have in the DC area which include, mobile radar speed cameras and red light cameras.
It is a bit scary reading that it is tracking my speed, I wonder how that's stored, more importantly how it's erased.
Yeah, I had the same thought about the speed tracking. I do think there's some real potential there with the new technology, though. On the other hand, reading the radar detector thread on the 997 board right now makes me think maybe I should go stealth!
I'm expecting that they'll host or provide access to one of the existing online camera GPS databases, so that you can pre-load the unit with fixed locations day one, and update via the web on a regular basis.
You'll just use the local GPS logging for your own key locations, such as local speed traps etc
The AI system should be very powerful, allowing false positives to be reduced, leaving you free to react immediately to any triggers with a high probability that it's police related.
The problem with units that false positive repeatedly, is that you start to ignore the alarm, and that could cost you vital braking time.

The 997 thread is interesting - mainly because it shows that the cops have little or no idea how successful modern detectors are in saving drivers from tickets.
They assume they don't work, because they still catch plenty of speeders.
Of course if the detector is doing it's job, they'd never know you detected them and slowed down!
Interesting anti detector sentiment - doesn't help my already jaded view of speed cops - especially as they use the very presence of a detector as an excuse to 'lie' about the recorded speed in a traffic stop.
Makes the point again that these cops are human, and it's a game to some of them - you should seriously think of fighting any ticket in court where appropriate.
I have a K40( which needs to be updated to the newest model) in my Porche the new detector will be for my truck and my business trips.
The Stealth detectors are perfect for me since two of the 3 Metropolitan areas I drive through regularly/daily have strict radar detector laws. I have though been caught with my dash detectors in DC and VA more than twice each within the past 13 years of owning dash mounted detectors, but I have never been ticketed for it.
I just went to court for a ticket for running a red light that I didn't run. Got dismissed, which was BS because I was still found guilty, just didn't have to pay the fine. The cop had completely lied about his location to the judge too.
Then a week later, I get pulled over for speeding (different county). There was a car in front of me and we were both going 49 in a 35. We both pull over, and the cop lets the guy in front of me go. He was in a utility company work vehicle. I asked the cop why he got to go and the cop said he was going 47 and I was going 49 so I get the ticket.
I've got no problem paying my fines for exceeding the limit, but I don't think it's right that two of us pull over, and the guy that was in front, setting the flow of traffic gets no ticket. So now I've got another court date to go to.
