Having to reach over past the stereo to put the rear wiper on, then the other side to adjust the intermitant wiper speed, having to reach down to my right foot to manually raise or lower the rear spoiler, putting the shopping in the front......

AFAIK there are no lights on the gear selector.....well none that I've noticed although mine is a 997 - will check next time I'm out in the dark to be sure though......
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi. First post on here having just purchased a 2000 Carrera Tip this week. Am loving the car, and have been reading this forum for some weeks, and looks like some knowledgeable and helpful people on here :thumb:
The car I have brought is spotless, and I'm well chuffed. Only problem I have found so far arose when I drove it for the first time in the dark last night. There were no lights on the gear selector (not the lights in the dash, but the ones I would expect on the selector stick), even when I turned the lights on. Have searched this forum, but can't seem to find anything remotely similar. I'm thinking either they don't have lights (which would be strange), or a bulb/fuse has gone.
Anyone had the same problem?
Thanks
Lee

LOL - How bizzare!!!
The quirkyness to this car goes on and on.
Having to reach over past the stereo to put the rear wiper on, then the other side to adjust the intermitant wiper speed, having to reach down to my right foot to manually raise or lower the rear spoiler, putting the shopping in the front...... is there anything else I should know? :?:
:floor:
No, haven't actually raised or lowered the spoiler (or the poiler) manually yet, and don't think I'll be show-boating at any point to do it.
Love the quirkyness - first Porsche and I'm loving it. Have owned loads of different cars, from scoobys to 350z, Honda S2000 on the drive etc etc, but nothing comes close to this. The scooby was probably quicker, but this puts a bigger smile on my face!!!!!!
