Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I wondered if anyone could help? I have just bought a 1999 carerra2, the problem is that when I switch the aircon on, a motor which seems to control a flap on the ventilation sort of goes click click click like it is cycling, it then stops and the ventilation/aircon seems to work normally. I'm guessing that it is a motorized damper somewhere behind the dash on the passenger side? Is this an easy diy fix and how much/where could I get one? any help or experience would be great cheers Norman

POST 2Original post

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am no expert regarding these matters, but there are a series of electrical relays, both near the drivers foot well and also in the dash area, mine is an 02 plate so layout will vary. These click on and off as various electrical switching tasks are performed. Once your ear has tuned in to them they get a bit irritating but at least you know hat they are there to do! I would recommend the book listed below, it helps you read around the subject and like me not appear a total dunce when you pitch up to your local Indie. If you have any concerns I would alsways drop by your local Indie for a chat about it, they tend to be as passionate about the bread as we are and will give good advice. Good luck Martin Porsche 996: Supreme Porsche (Essential Companion Series) (Paperback) by Jurgen Barth (Foreword), Adrian Streather (Author)

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
