So the PSE only replaces the single large muffler into 2 smaller ones but doesn't add any extra valves on the s model?

So I noted that the exhaust tone changes in sport and sport plus modes. I have an 991s without PSE. What happens exactly? Do valves open? How does this differ and function with the PSE button? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes. The S car comes with valves that automatically close and open over 3500. I think this is why the PSE retrofit cost more on a base car as the valves are not present. In a PSE car, besides the fact the multiple mufflers are smaller, turning PSE on results in a different air flow between the chambers.

If I didn't hear the pops / burbles I wouldn't miss it. I am neutral to them. I like the roaring however. But then again any kind of noise gets annoying after a while and I wish I could just mute it. Say after the 1st 15-30min of driving. I can enjoy my music more then. These days I just crank up the volume to drown the engine sound.
