Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I don't know which Sport Classics or Sport Designs we are talking about but a set like on my car was around $1,000 on ebay the other day?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Reading the forum here, I see the avatar of user discoganya and I love those wheels! His signature lists them as "18" Sport Classics". Anyone have experience or knowledge of where one might buy a set of these, new or used?
I don't want to go to 19" - and these would go on my '02 996 cab.
Oh, and I'm on a budget...
Michael
Just a basic OEM wheel that came in an 18" size. Made for both the 996 and 986 (different offsets though). You should be able to get them fairly cheap on eBay since they are not really considered an "upgrade" wheel in the world of adding wheels to a P-Car.

This is how they look. I've seen several more Rennlisters with these wheels e.g. Nicolaasdb
I do love this wheel- I had it on my boxster as well as my 996 and for me personally I dont think I'll ever change them. Just different enough and I think they are classy looking.
auto-xr,
Are you sure? I asked a shop recently, and this is what they told me:
Porsche Factory Sport Classic II
7.5x18" 22 lbs. 8 oz.
8x18" 24 lbs. 1 oz.
9x18" 23 lbs. 7 oz.
10x18" 28 lbs. 7 oz.
Which seemed pretty reasonable compared to similar wheels I saw on Tire Rack. Even the $$$ "lightweight" BBS wheels were still over 20 lbs. for fronts...
I ask 'cause I may (or may not) be in the market for new shoes soon..
Justin
I here's what I found when I weighed my wheels.
993 18" Turbo Twists Pounds
7.5" Front 24.5
10" Rear 28
18" Sport Designs
7.5" Front 26.5
10" Rear 30
18" 02' Carrera2 5 spokes
8" Front 21
10" Rear 23
One of my friends has some Sport Classics and he said that they were about the same or a little heavier. I'll ask him for the weights and will post them when I get them.
WOW! Great information on availability, weights, and nice pics. Thanks everyone!
I remember putting on some heavier OZ wheels on my Corvette, and the performance difference was noticable.
